MICHAEL CECI

Age: 41

Home: 3480 Denver Ave.

Education: Master’s degree in public administration from Cleveland State University, to be obtained in May 2010; bachelor’s degree in business, Youngstown State University; Austintown Fitch High School graduate.

Employment: Ohio Department of Taxation, tax agent.

Family: Wife, Holly.

Priority: Finding solutions to financial shortcomings, providing an outstanding educational experience, improving transparency in board actions.

DAVID HIGHT

Age: 44

Home: 4775 Logan Arms Drive.

Education: Ohio University, 1988; Youngstown East High School, 1984.

Employment: Parker Hannifin Corp., millwright.

Family: Wife, Patrice; daughter, Lauren; and son, David Jr.

Priority: Getting back students who were lost through open enrollment and the state voucher system.

GLORIA LANG*

Age: 77

Home: 4793 Ardmore Ave.

Education: State University of New York.

Employment: Retired from General Motors. Journeyman tool-and-die maker. Enrolled agent with the IRS.

Priority: Funding-efficiency and accountability, communication to the public, increasing parental involvement.

CHRISTINE FLANAGAN

Age: 55

Home: 10 Walker Circle.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in education from Slippery Rock State College, 1975; master’s degree in education, Kent State University, 1985.

Employment: Youngstown city schools, special education supervisor.

Priority: Fiscal solvency and keeping students in the district.

JOSEPH NOHRA

Age: 38

Home: 2037 Burning Tree Lane.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in special education, YSU, 1995; master’s degree in education administration, YSU, 1998; working on doctorate in education.

Employment: Austintown School District, assistant high school principal.

Priority: Continuous improvement on test scores and Adequate Yearly Progress, the district’s financial situation.
