3 die in Ohio fire

LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in southwest Ohio say three people died in an early morning blaze that engulfed a house.

Fire officials in Lebanon say the wood frame home was more than a century old and only a smoldering shell was left. They couldn’t tell immediately the sexes of the bodies recovered.

Fire Chief Michael Hannigan says the fire had made substantial headway by the time firefighters got the first calls at around 2:30 a.m. today.

Fire companies from neighboring townships helped battle the blaze, 25 miles northeast of Cincinnati. The state Fire Marshal’s office will investigate the cause.
