local topics on TV Sunday programs
“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m., WFMJ-TV 21; rebroadcast at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday on the Time Warner Cable community-access channel): Thomas Conley, CEO and president of the Greater Warren-Youngstown Urban League, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss Thursday’s annual dinner featuring a keynote address by Cheryle Jackson, CEO and president of the Chicago Urban League. Jackson recently announced her bid for the senatorial seat vacated by President Obama. Additionally, Conley will discuss the new direction of the Urban League and what it means to our community.
Next, Krishmu Shipmon of the Mahoning Valley Job and Family Services Department, will discuss the second annual Senior Forum designed to help senior citizens with issues regarding finances, homeownership and other free services available through the county. John Perkins of Perkins Communications will share information on the new community-access channel via Time Warner Cable and how the community can submit materials for broadcast.
Finally, Diane Less, Jim Echement and Ron Chick will discuss a fund-raising concert to benefit The Rescue Mission of the Valley and Angels for Animals.
