East Palestine keeps pace in ITCL Tier One


EAST PALESTINE — Shane Peterson rushed for 121 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead East Palestine over South Range, 40-19, in an Inter Tri-County League Tier One football game on Friday night.

Peterson also passed for 96 yards and one TD, completing 5 of 9, as the Bulldogs (7-1, 4-1), ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press Division V poll and No. 4 in the Region 17 computer ratings, amassed 424 yards.

Corey Barnhouse added 97 yards on 12 carries for East Palestine, which led 26-6 after three quarters.

Phillip Arsuffi rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown for South Range (2-6, 1-4), while Vince Miller and Kyle Seaver hooked up for TD passes of 15 and 69 yards.

Crestview 59, Lisbon 13

LISBON — Crestview remained unbeaten (8-0, 5-0 ITCL Tier One) by jumping out to a 46-0 halftime lead.

Andrew Mayer rushed for 125 yards and scored three touchdowns for the Rebels, while Adam Coppock added 102 yards and one score. Kody Simpson had two TDs while Jesse Dew, Carter Hill and Nick Blower all reached the end zone once.

Lisbon (0-8, 0-5) got 72 yards rushing by Josh Cook and 113 yards passing and two TDs by Todd Padurean, one to Billy Myers and one to Cook.

Lowellville 16, Leetonia 15

LEETONIA — Geno Tkach scored on a 3-yard touchdown run and Jim Perry added the two-point conversion in the fourth quarter to give Lowellville (4-4, 4-1 ITCL Tier Two) the win.

Perry rushed for 72 yards while Evan Filip rushed for 71 and was 8 of 13 for 58 yards and a TD.

Leetonia is 5-3, 3-2.

United 38, Springfield 28

HANOVERTON — Mike McLaughlin had three catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns, while Josh McLaughlin gave United (3-5, 2-3 Inter-Tri County League Tier One) the final push for a victory over Springfield (4-4, 2-3).

Jimmy Zubick led the way for the Tigers, rushing for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Receiver Tanner Aunet and quarterback Brad Ferraro connected for a game-tying score, but McLaughlin was able to get in the end zone on an 11-yard run.

Wellsville 30, Jackson-Milton 0

WELLSVILLE — Jeremy Carter had 298 offensive yards as Wellsville (6-2, 3-2 Inter-Tri County League Tier Two) beat Jackson-Milton (1-7, 0-5).

Carter threw touchdown passes to DeShon Pullie, Nunzio Lombardozzi, and Chad Elliot. Wellsville’s other score came on a 1 yard run by Nick Broughton.

Southern 7, Sebring 0

SEBRING — Bryan Brinker rushed for 144 yards and scored the only touchdown in the second quarter.

The Indians (3-5, 1-4 ITCL Tier Two) outgained Sebring (1-7, 0-5) 294-65.
