NEW WILMINGTON — After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Dr. Bryan Phillip Hooks and the former Angela Rose Efler live in Howland. They were married on May 9 at Wallace Memorial Chapel.

The Rev. Timothy Blanarik officiated at the afternoon wedding, and a reception followed at Shakespeare’s at Olde Stonewall in Ellwood City, Pa.

Parents of the bride are James and Rosemary Pompoco of Howland, and the groom’s parents are Gerald and Cynthia Hooks of Economy, Pa.

The bride’s strapless white satin gown was enhanced with beading and featured a brooch at the waistline and a chapel train.

Honor attendants, Elizabeth Maguire and Sarah Campbell, and the bridesmaids, Lindsey Werner, Rachael Kennedy, Jennifer Litzinger and Kelly Grist, wore lilac gowns. Flower girl was Marissa Hooks.

Jared Hooks was best man, and groomsmen were Bill Spencer, Dr. Tony Falvello, Ian McLaughlin, Jim Litzinger and Mike Loftus. Junior groomsman was Matthew Hooks, and ring bearers were Jesse and Joshua George, Michael Pompoco, and Garrett Litzinger.

The bride graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree. She is a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

The groom is a chief orthopedic surgery resident at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. He graduated from Westminster College and earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
