Poland blanks Canfield, 2-0

POLAND — Charles Lamping and Matt Mrozek each scored one goal and Taylor Malaniak had an assist to lead the Poland High boys soccer team toa 2-0 win over Canfield on Tuesday.

Cooper Kostelic had seven saves for the Bulldogs (13-0-1), while Mike Thomas had 12 for Canfield (9-5-1). Poland held a 14-7 edge in shots.

JVs: Poland 2-0.

Howland 2, Niles 1

NILES — Connor Gilmour had two goals, while Tyler Williams and Cameron Francis each added one for Howland.

Bob Vickers scored for Niles and J.J. Crowley had four saves. Robert Daniels had three saves for the Tigers.

Lakeview 3, Beaver Local 2

CORTLAND — Jeremy Shaw had two goals and Ryan Ellis one for Lakeview (9-3-3, 4-0-1 AAC White).

Jake Colbrunn and Andrew Gardner added assists and Alex Rosowicz had seven saves.

For Beaver Local (11-2-2, 3-1-1), Travis Lynch and Jordan Fetty scored goals.

Hubbard 4, Salem 1

SALEM — Connor Mogg had two goals to pace Hubbard (4-8, 1-3-1 AAC).

Tim Kemner also scored for Hubbard while the Eagles got their other goal on an own goal by Salem.

Sterling Morris, Nick Pedaline and Connor Syersak had assists for Hubbard.

Brice Cushman had Salem’s goal.

BELOIT — Dylan Schaefer, Brian Snoddy and Tyler Strawser each had one goal and one assist for West Branch (5-2).

J.P. Hoopes and Devin Rogers also scored for the Warriors.

Matt Brunner had 13 saves for West Branch while teammate Matt Lathan had one.

AUSTINTOWN — Rashida Strozier had two goals and Kristi Cooper, Katina LaGamba and Caitlyn Vestal each had one for YCS (10-4-1). Rachel Suszczynski had an assist and Cami Chickonski had nine saves. For Liberty (0-13), Madison Hunkus scored and Vicky Serrono had 17 saves.

STRUTHERS — Nicole Moldovan had three goals, Jen Ulam had two and Lindsey Clark and Laura Griffin each had one for Lakeview (9-4-2). Elaine Moldovan had seven saves.

Kayla Kusky had 17 saves for Struthers (3-7-3).

MERCER, Pa. - Senior Claire Creasy scored three goals — including the 100th of her career — to lead Mercer (7-4, 2-1 PIAA District 10).
