Poland blanks Lakeview; Fitch slips past Salem, 1-0

POLAND — Abbey Chandler and Erin Gabriel each scored for the Poland High soccer team, which blanked Lakeview 2-0 on Monday.

Tatum Marucci had an assist for Poland (11-1-2), which outshot Lakeview 21-3. Bulldogs goalie Abbie Frank had three saves.

Lakeview (8-4-2) goalie Elaine Moldovan had 12 saves and backup Casey Boldt delivered three.

JVs: Poland won, 4-0.

HOWLAND — Kaley Shales scored both goals for Shaker Heights (12-2-1). Lizzie Goldsmith and Hannah Thompson had assists and goalkeeper Alissa Poolpol made six saves.

Tigers (10-3-1) goalkeeper Erika Nites made eight saves.

SALEM — Kaity Shiley scored the only goal of the game to lift Fitch.

The Falcons (8-4-2) had a 12-3 shots advantage, and a 6-2 margin in corner shots.

Salem (9-5-1) goalie Allison Thompson had 11 saves.

Boardman 2, West Branch 2

BOARDMAN — Katlen Kubeck’s goal on Kaitlyn Williamson’s assist lifted West Branch into the tie.

Heather Hughes and Danielle Petrus each had goals for Boardman (10-4-1) while Briana Harris made an assist.

Alex Long scored West Branch’s other goal.

Boardman goalie Cheyenne Khatib had eight saves.

West Branch goalie Sierra Woolfe had 15 saves.

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Lexy Zubick, Jaclyn Tabaka and Jennifer Cunningham scored for the Tigers. Amber Kennemer had an assist while goaltender Tiffany Johnson made six saves.

BRISTOVILLE — Angela Giuliano’s goal on a penalty kick pulled Newton Falls into the tie.

Devann Bryner one goal on an assist Rachel Ellis.

For Bristol (7-5-3), Katie Rasmussen and Michelle Termine each had a goal.

Newton Falls (7-2-5) goalie Rebecca Umberger had eight saves.

Bristol goalie Heidi Ulrich had 18 saves.

KINSMAN — Shawna McNeely scored for the Braves (8-3-3) on an assist by Olivia Vanscoy. Megan Hunkus made four saves to earn the shutout.

South Range 5, Heartland Christian 3

NORTH LIMA — Tyler Ausnehmer had three goals to lead South Range.

Jordan Baker added one goal and one assist and Justin Neimi one goal to bolster the Raiders, while Andy Lacefield contributed three assists and Clayton Proch one assist.

Dan Walsh had two goals and Sam Flynn one goal to pace Heartland Christian ( (1-9-3).

South Range goalie Isaac Schuster had 10 saves.
