Girard council approves land annexation to Youngstown for proposed V&M project

GIRARD — City council tonight approved the agreement to annex 191 acres of city property to Youngstown for the proposed V&M Star Steel expansion project.

There was one abstention made by Councilman Thomas Grumley. He abstained because of a potential conflict of interest because the company he works for does some work with V&M.

The Youngstown Board of Control will take up the annexation matter at its meeting Tuesday.
