AUSTINTOWN AARP

• Austintown AARP will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road. Flu shots will be available at 12:30. Dues will be taken; members must have national and local cards to present. The program will be given by Mr. VanMeter on Civil War re-enactments. COITSVILLE

• Coitsville Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Coitsville Town Hall. A casserole lunch will be served; members should take their own place setting. Gerry Salaka will give devotions, birthdays and anniversaries will be honored, and card bingo will be played with Steve Hrycik as the caller. A 50/50 raffle will also take place. Residents and nonresidents of Coitsville are welcome.

CROATIAN PENSIONERS

• The Croatian Pensioners of the Mahoning Valley will meet at noon Thursday. Guest speaker will be Mark Cole. A board meeting of all officers and trustees will begin at 10:30 a.m. The club would like to thank all those who attended the Fall Fest and the cooks of Lodge 66 for the delicious meal. The club is looking for new members. Meetings are at noon the third Thursday of each month at the Lodge 66 Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. GIRARD

• Girard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the center at 16 N. State St. Candidates for Senior of the Year will be announced; members will cast their votes at the Oct. 28 meeting. A display of wooden crafts will be the program.

GOLDEN PILLARS

• An 11 a.m. liturgy will precede Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the Golden Pillars at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave. Eleanor Hnat will preside, birthdays and anniversaries will be observed, and bingo and cards will be played. Members are asked to take their own place setting for the noon lunch.

HOLY FAMILY

• Holy Family Seniors will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Merici Hall, rectory basement. Jennie Nethers will preside, and cards, bingo and a 50-50 raffle will be featured. IMMACULATE HEART

• Immaculate Heart of Mary Senior Citizens will have a monthly meeting and luncheon at noon Thursday in the Parish Center. For reservations, call Anna Mae Hlebak at (330) 799-9425 or Irene Bondar at (330) 799-2437. All parish members 55 and older are invited to attend and join the club. The yearly dues of $5 per person are being collected at the meeting, or they can be placed in the Sunday collection basket. The seniors will also meet as a group on the tabernacle side of the church for Mass at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 18. Any member wanting to go to breakfast at Denny’s after Mass should call Hlebak or Bondar at the above phone numbers.

• J.C. Penney retirees will meet for lunch at 12:30 Tuesday at Denny’s in Boardman.

KC-ETTES

• The KC-ettes of Poland will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the K. of C. Hall. Hostesses will be Sue Gurocy, Lee Centofanti, Mary Galich and Mary Hamrock.

LIBERTY 55-PLUS

• Liberty 55-Plus Senior Citizens will have a monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Assembly Church, Cardinal Drive, Liberty. Kay Herberger will preside, and Pat Schultz and Marge Wilster will be hostesses. The theme will be Halloween, and there will be a 50-50 raffle.

MAHONING BANK

• Retirees of Mahoning Bank will meet for a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn South. All retirees are welcome.

MAHONING RETIRED TEACHERS

• Mahoning Retired Teachers invite all newly retired teachers to attend the annual Fall Gathering at 7 p.m. Thursday at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St. Use the back door off the parking lot. • St. Charles Over-55 Club will meet at noon Tuesday in the social hall. After a short meeting, refreshments will be served and games and cards will be played. New members are also welcome. • Sears Friendship Group will meet at noon Monday at Antone’s near West Boulevard.

S.O.A.R. 1-28-10

• Retirees of Local 2243 U.S.W.A. Copperweld Steel, S.O.A.R. 1-28-10, will have a regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Local 1375 Union Hall, 684 N. Park Ave., Warren. The guest speaker will be Jeff Hovanic, Champion trustee.

SUNSHINE

• Sunshine Seniors will meet at noon Oct. 20 at the Byzantine Center at the Grove with Henry Testa presiding. The trip hostess will hand out seating for the Oct. 22 trip to Rivers Casino. Those who have not paid their $18 should do so at this meeting.

UFCW

• UFCW Local 880 Retirees Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 13 at Lucianno’s Restaurant in the Wedgewood Plaza, Austintown. If you are a UFCW Local 880 retiree, consider joining the group. New members are always expected and welcome. There will be a 50-50 raffle and bingo at this meeting, and plans for the December holiday meeting will be discussed.
