GARDEN CLUBS | This week's meetings announced

TUESDAY

• Moccasin members will meet for Operation Shoebox, to assemble gifts for troops serving overseas. Co-hostesses are Rose Commarato and Barb Martin. The club donation will be cleaning supplies and/or food for the needy.

• A road trip to the Linda Vista Farm in New Castle, Pa., is planned for members of New Bedford. A hayride and farm tour are planned; meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by the social committee.

THURSDAY

• Johnny Appleseed members will meet at 7:30 p.m. for a program on rug hooking by hostess Ginny Gaskeen. Harriet Deeds is co-hostess, and Rose Marie Zamary is in charge of the door prize.

SATURDAY

• A meeting of Sunflower will be hosted by Annie Pearl Craighead. The topic will be “Preparing the Garden for Winter.

UPCOMING

• Columbiana will meet Oct. 20. The hostesses are Ellen Ross, Ruth Cottom and Maxine Karlis. Members will be contacted by phone for more information.

• Garden club events are published Sunday. The deadline is noon Thursday.
