Family celebrates with the Potestas to honor 50 years of their marriage

COLUMBIANA — A family celebration recently marked the 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Potesta of Columbiana.

The party took place Sept. 26 at the Dutch Village Inn.

The honorees’ family includes Robert and Cindy Potesta of Columbiana; Richard and Alison Potesta of Stow, Ronald and Kym Potesta of Springfield, Ill.; and Patricia and Paul Cusick of Crestview. The couple have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary Louise Andersen, mother of Mrs. Potesta, and several relatives from Pennsylvania, New York and the Youngstown area were in attendance.

The former Shirley Ann Andersen and Mr. Potesta were married on Sept. 26, 1959, at Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church. They are active members of the church.

Mr. Potesta, a pharmacist, opened the Washingtonville Pharmacy in 1972. He is a part-time pharmacist for Hometown Pharmacy. Mrs. Potesta is retired from the store.
