Erie, Pa. man jailed in juice-and-cookies robbery


ERIE, Pa. (AP) — An Erie man is jailed on charges he robbed a convenience store, but took only $9.44 worth of juice and cookies.

Police say 29-year-old Montrel Amos told a clerk at the Circle K store that he had a gun before taking the food about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a witness described the car Amos used and police stopped and arrested him a short time later.

Police say they did not find a weapon but recovered the stolen items.

Amos is charged with robbery, possessing instruments of crime and retail theft.
