Club project helps leaders become readers

BOUND TO PLEASE: Members of Canfield Republican Women’s Club kicked off their fall season Sept. 9 with a program on the literacy theme “Readers Become Leaders.” Members took 120 books to the meeting to be donated to the Beatitude House in Youngstown. Sarah Graziani, chair of the club’s Caring for America program, at left, is shown presenting some of the books to Jennifer Roberts of Beatitude House. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of President Lincoln, the club donated books about the Lincoln to six local school libraries. Candidates for positions on Canfield School Board and as Canfield Township trustees were invited to speak at the club’s meeting Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield.
