A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Oct. 2

Theft: Someone stole 112 OxyContin tablets from a residence in the 2300 block of Hamilton Avenue.

Oct. 4

Domestic violence: Police took a 15-year-old Poland boy to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown after a situation at his residence.

Burglary: To a home in the 3800 block of Arrel Road, where jewelry and a chain saw were missing.

BOARDMAN

Oct. 3

Theft: A $150 compact-disc player was removed from a car on Doral Drive.

Theft: A female teen was held after 10 pieces of merchandise were stolen from Family Dollar, 4026 South Ave.

Theft: A woman, 29, and a 37-year-old man, both of Boardman, were charged, accused of failing to pay an $81 food bill at TGI Friday’s, 7165 Tiffany Blvd.

Arrest: A 25-year-old city man was apprehended in Youngstown on charges of receiving stolen property, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and failing to comply with police. The man was in a stolen 1988 Buick Park Avenue and had led township police on a vehicle and foot pursuit, after which authorities had to use a Taser, a report said.

Theft: A township woman, 30, faced charges of theft and criminal trespassing after $57.71 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 26, was charged with stealing $42 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart.

Assault: A worker at a South Avenue eatery said a former friend pushed her into a wall on two occasions and spit in her face.

Theft: Three firearms were taken from a residence in the 6600 block of Bristlewood Drive.

Theft: About $350 was stolen from a car at a Market Street store.

Arson: Someone set fire to a plastic mailbox in the 1300 block of Huntington Court.

Attempted burglary: In the 4700 block of Grover Drive.

Oct. 4

Theft: A $700 refrigerator was stolen from a residence in the 7300 block of Sugartree Drive.

Theft: A flashlight, two sets of handcuffs and two pairs of gloves were among items missing from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Meadow Lane.

Burglary: Someone kicked in the front door to a home in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue before taking a laser printer, a 12-gauge shotgun and several other firearms.

Theft: A global-positioning system unit, an MP3 player and two chargers were removed from a vehicle parked in the 7300 block of Tiffany Boulevard.

Felonious assault: Officers picked up a 24-year-old woman at her Mathews Road home on a warrant after the woman’s boyfriend alleged she had deliberately struck him with her vehicle. He had no serious injuries, however.

Citation: A 33-year-old Boardman man was cited on a disorderly-conduct charge when, police said, he punched another man repeatedly in the head during a fight.

Assault: A Canfield man suffered a broken hand in a fight at a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant.

Citation: Officers cited on disorderly-conduct charges a 39-year-old Lansdale, Pa., man and a 25-year-old Hampton, Va., man, both of whom fought at a South Avenue business.

Oct. 5

Arson: A Beechwood Drive man awoke to find his truck on fire in his backyard. Flames also reached a sliding-glass door and siding on the home, a report said.

Recovered property: A truck-and-trailer combination stolen from a South Avenue business was found in Youngstown, though various tools and machines were missing.

Arrests: Officers responded to a possible drunken driver near Shields Road and took into custody two 29-year-old Youngstown men on charges that included public indecency, aggravated menacing and possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the intoxicated men had his pants down, and police had to use a Taser because he continued to be uncooperative and threatening, a report said.

Theft: A Boardman man, no age given, was charged with taking a $40 pair of sandals from Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A city woman, 60, faced a felony count, accused of stealing $555 worth of clothing and jewelry from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Someone removed all the tires on a vehicle at a Market Street dealership.

Theft: A woman told police she had made a $1,000 deposit to someone who failed to finish work to her Leighton Avenue home. The man wrote her a check to cover the sum, but the check had been drawn on insufficient funds.

Theft: A woman took a $40 electric razor from Walgreens Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.

Vandalism: A large rock was tossed through a window of a home in the 500 block of Beechwood Drive.

Theft: Someone used a razor blade to cut the package and remove an Xbox game controller at Wal-Mart.

Oct. 6

Theft: A rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 4000 block of Baymar Drive.

Theft: An in-dash CD player and a fleece blanket were taken from a car at the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: To a residence in the 4200 block of Hopkins Road. A bedroom was ransacked and jewelry was missing.

Criminal damaging: A BB gun was used to damage a window of an apartment in the 1900 block of Mathews Road.

Assault: A Willow Drive man had scrapes and scratches after being punched and knocked to the ground.

Theft: Someone stole $50 worth of perfume from a vehicle at a business in the 1400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a possible theft from a Southern Park Mall store, where they charged a 30-year-old Youngstown woman with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. The woman was uncooperative and belligerent, interfering with the investigation, a report showed.

Theft/damage: A vehicle in the 1100 block of Doral Drive had a window broken. Stolen was a $300 GPS device.

Theft: A car in the 4800 block of Oak Knoll Drive had its front license plate removed.

Theft: An employee of a Southern Park Mall store noticed a wallet missing from her backpack.

Burglary: Occurred at a Yarmouth Lane home, from which jewelry, numerous firearms, two flat-screen TVs and a cell phone were stolen.

Theft/forgery: A Southern Boulevard man’s name was forged on two checks that were stolen from him.

Theft/damage: A vehicle at a Boardman-Poland Road business was entered, and a $300 CD player was stolen.

Oct. 7

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 32, was taken into custody on a warrant after being pulled over near South Avenue.
