Erin McBride scores five goals as JFK soccer defeats Crestview 8-2
COLUMBIANA — Erin McBride scored five goals and Kelly Guarnieri added two more as Warren JFK (12-1-1) defeated Crestview 8-2 in a girls soccer game on Wednesday.
Jerica Cooper also tallied for the Eagles and had two assists, while Natalie Pleiss, McBride and Guarnieri all added assists.
Crestview’s goals were scored by Erika Cox and Amanda Kissinger with Nicole Richey getting an assist.
Megan Foster had 19 saves for the Rebels while Helena Democopoulas had two saves and Kelsey Case five for the Eagles.
Bristol 1, Badger 1
BRISTOLVILLE — Katlyn Rasmussen for Bristol and Shawna McNeely for Badger both scored first half goals as the two teams battled to a tie.
Heidi Ulrich assisted on Rasmussen’s goal and Adriana Brahl made an assist on McNeely’s goal.
Ulrich also had 17 saves for Bristol (7-5-2), while Kelsey Flowers made 12 saves for Badger.
Fitch 2, GlenOak 1
AUSTINTOWN — Sara Ford and Meghan Shonce had the first-half goals for Fitch, while Kara Opryszko tallied for GlenOak in the second half.
Kelsey Martin had an assist for the Falcons Fitch (7-3-2, 4-1 Federal League), while Lauren Block had the lone assist for GlenOak (10-3-1).
Fitch out-shot the Golden Eagles, 15-4, while Fitch goalie Ali Tolich made three saves.
GlenOak’s Nicki Becks made 13 stops in goal.
Mooney 2, Ursuline 0
YOUNGSTOWN — Amy Vinopal scored a pair of goals and led Mooney (4-7-3) past Ursuline.
Chrissy Hobbe added an assist for the Cardinals, while goalkeeper Rachel Letscher had 11 saves.
Boys Poland 9, Harding 0
POLAND — Taylor Malaniak scored a pair of goals to lead Poland (11-0-1) over Warren Harding.
Ryan Storkel, Matt Mrozek, Spencer Booth, Leo D’Angelo, Frank Ferraro, Kevin Krumpak and Jordan Shepard all scored one goal each for the Bulldogs. Malaniak, Storkel and Booth all added assists. Poland outshot Harding 14-4. JVs: Poland 6-0.
South Range 1, Warren JFK 0
NORTH LIMA — Andy Lacefield scored the game’s lone goal off an assist by Clayton Proch as South Range improved to 11-2-2 on the season.
The Raiders’ goalkeeper Isaac Schuster had four saves.
