Church, businesses offer free festival
STAFF REPORT
AUSTINTOWN — An Austintown church has put together a little gift of love and appreciation for its community.
On Saturday, Idaho Road Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 250 Idaho Road, is having a Fall Festival for area residents. The church, working in cooperation with a number of local businesses, is providing free food and entertainment as well as games and activities for kids.
Explaining the reason for this event, Senior Pastor Mike Erdel said, “We can definitely remind our neighbors and friends of God’s love for them by a small act of kindness.”
As a result of this partnership — the church and local businesses — a full menu of food and fun and music have been put together. Visitors to the Fall Fest can fill up on free hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, cotton candy and chips as well as seasonal fare such as apple and pumpkin pies.
There will be games and music, and the Austintown fire and police departments are bringing their equipment. The Fall Fest activities will run from noon to 5 p.m. Parking also is free across the street from the church at Frank Ohl Intermediate School.
For more information, call the church at (330) 792-3456.
