Election officials check for suspected voter fraud in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (AP) — County elections officials in Cincinnati have asked the prosecutor to investigate some 40 absentee ballot applications that appear to be fraudulent.
Hamilton County officials said today that the forms were turned in with the name and address of a registered voter, but not the correct birth date, Social Security partial number, or signature.
Staffers said the registered voters they contacted told them they had not asked for a ballot. Early voting for November elections began last week.
Republican and Democratic leaders on the bipartisan elections board say they are working together to ensure fair elections. They don’t know who is behind the suspected fraud.
