Division VI teams moving up computer list

Area teams in Division VI are starting to make their move in the OHSAA’s weekly computer ratings.

Five teams are rated this week, led by unbeaten McDonald (6-0) in Region 21.

The Blue Devils, who play host to Sebring on Friday night, remained in third place in the region, behind Mogadore and Bucyrus Wynford.

Also in the region are Warren JFK (4-2) at No. 8 and Western Reserve (6-0) at No. 9.

Western Reserve visits McDonald on Oct. 16.

Also in Div. VI, Columbiana (4-2) jumped three spots to fifth place in Region 23. The Clippers visit Springfield on Friday. Also in Region 23 Leetonia moved up to No. 9.

Eight teams from the Inter Tri-County League are listed in the ratings this week.

Crestview (6-0) supplanted East Palestine as the top team in Div. V, Region 17, after beating the Bulldogs last weekend. East Palestine (5-1) dropped to No. 3, while Ursuline (3-2) is seventh, Mineral Ridge (4-2) is No. 8 and Springfield (4-2) is No. 10.

The All-American Conference has seven teams in the ratings.

Howland (6-0) is No. 2 in Div. II, Region 5, behind only Chesterland West Geauga. The Tigers play host to Poland (6-0) on Friday. The Bulldogs are No. 2 in Div. III, Region 9, behind Cardinal Mooney (6-0).

The Cardinals again have the most points of any team in the state, regardless of division.

Also, Girard (6-0) is No. 2 in Div. IV, Region 13, while Lakeview (4-2) is No. 4. Chagrin Falls (6-0) leads the region.

Also in Div. III, Hubbard (5-1) is No. 8 in Region 9 and Salem (4-2) is No. 9 in Region 11.

Canfield (5-1) moved up one spot to No. 4 in Region 5.

In Div. I, Warren Harding (4-1-1) is fifth, Boardman (4-2) is No. 9 and Austintown Fitch (5-1) is No. 10.
