Summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept. 25

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 22-year-old Canfield man in the 10 block of Callahan Road and charged him with felony drug abuse, possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. Police found a plastic bag of suspected heroin, four hypodermic needles and a metal spoon with suspected dried drug residue.

Sept. 26

Possession of dangerous drugs: Police arrested a 20-year-old Austintown man at Fairground Boulevard and Surrey Lane after they found an unmarked prescription bottle containing nine capsules identified by the poison-control center as an antibiotic. The man said his mother gave him the pills.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 28

Arrest: Police charged a woman for obstructing official business and criminal trespassing at EconoLodge, 5431 1‚Ñ2 Seventy-Six Drive. She was found in a car with a man, and they told police they were resting. She provided a false name upon initial questioning.

Theft: Two trucks were entered and change was taken at Ryder Truck Rental, 650 N. Meridian Road.

Vandalism: Someone damaged the carpeting at the 911 Memorial, 1755 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A purse and an MP3 player were stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Apartments.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from an auto in the 1000 block of Deer Creek apartments.

Disorderly conduct: Police charged a 13-year-old male student with the crime at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Theft: Money was taken from a purse at the E.M.F. Thrift Store, 1733 S. Raccoon Road.

Lost or stolen property: An Ohio license was reported missing at Huntington Bank, 1732 S. Raccoon Road.

Aggravated menacing: A man is a suspect in menacing at a home in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.

Burglary: Forced entry was made to the front door and jewelry was taken at a home in the 6000 block of Fairview Road.

Assault: A woman reported she was pushed in the chest and grabbed around the neck by another woman in the parking lot at Compass West apartments.

Attempted burglary: A door was pried at but no entry was gained at an apartment in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Sept. 29

Lost or stolen wallet: A man reported his wallet lost or stolen at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West Apartments.

Menacing: A woman is a suspect in menacing at a rental office for Westchester Apartments, 4815 Westchester Drive.

Theft: Two tool boxes were stolen from Ohio Van, 3667 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Medications were stolen from an apartment in the 800 block of North Meridian Road.

Counterfeit currency: A fake $50 bill was passed at Mahoning County Area Court, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A man is accused of taking money for two televisions and not delivering them at a home in the 5000 block of Winslow Drive.

Theft: $35.72 in gasoline was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Sept. 30

Theft: A 16-inch boys BMX bicycle was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Fraud: Charges were made to a checking account at a home in the 3000 block of Evelyn Drive.

Oct. 1

Disorderly conduct: A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at Westchester apartments.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was arrested for possession of suspected marijuana at Rumors Lounge, 104 N. Meridian Road. Police found him looking inside the lounge after hours.

Burglary: Coins and a silver ingot bar were stolen from a home in the 5000 block of West Radio Road.

Assault: A male student assaulted the principal at Woodside Elementary School, 4105 Elmwood Ave., scratching and twisting her hand, punching her in the stomach and kicking and biting her. The principal was treated at Salem Community Hospital.

Telecommunications harassment: A man reported receiving unwanted phone calls from another man at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: A woman was apprehended for theft at Sears, 6009 Mahoning Ave., after a traffic pursuit by police. She was released on a summons, charged with stealing a four-tool comb set.

Theft: A woman was released on a summons, charged with committing the crime at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A man threw a rock through a window in a home in the 200 block of Carnegie Avenue.

Oct. 2

Theft: $114.62 in food was not paid for by a male suspect at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Fifty $10 lottery tickets were stolen at Lottery Express, 4903 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Beer was stolen at McQuaid’s, 702 N. Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: The menu board was smashed with rocks at the abandoned Skooters Ice Cream, 1408 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Charges are pending for five juveniles after marijuana was recovered at Norquest Boulevard and Mahoning Avenue. The suspects include a North Jackson male, three Austintown males and a Canfield male.

Recovered property: A 1997 Ford Explorer was recovered in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue. The vehicle had been stolen in Hubbard.

Theft: An iPod was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Oct. 3

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Notre Dame Drive.

Recovered property: A 26-inch Roadmaster bicycle was recovered in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: A paint sprayer was stolen from Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Cider Mill Run.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Nashua Drive.

Drug offense: A Warren man was arrested on charges of obstructing official business and possession of needles at Club 76, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: A laptop taken from at Bits, Bytes and Pieces, 5462 Mahoning Ave., was not returned.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Cider Mill Crossing.

Assault: A Canfield man reported being assaulted by several bouncers at The Wedge, 1743 S. Raccoon Road. His right elbow was broken.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 1000 block of South Kimberly Avenue.

Theft: A victim reported that she dropped $65 and another female picked it up at Sav-A-Lot, 1715 S. Raccoon Road.

Oct. 4

Theft: Patrons walked out on a $101.35 bill at Quaker Steak & Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd.

Weapons offense: A man was arrested for possession of a .38-caliber handgun at Forest Hill and Daytona Drive.

Disorderly conduct: A man was issued the summons on the charge at Super 8 Motel, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: $82.52 in food and alcohol was not paid for by a male suspect at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Animal complaint: Loose dogs were reported at a home in the 6000 block of Silica Road.

Breaking and entering: Access was gained through a window at S&C Auto, 3733 Mahoning Ave., but nothing was reported missing.

Theft: Six boxes of Prilosec were stolen at Walgreens, 40 N. Meridian Road.

Assault: A male clerk slapped a female clerk on the buttocks at Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Driftwood Lane.
