Salvation Army gets into Christmas spirit

YOUNGSTOWN — The Salvation Army is taking applications for Christmas assistance in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
All households meeting eligibility requirements are welcome to apply. Each will receive a food voucher. Children 12 and under at the time of application will be given toys.
Eligibility requirements are as follows:
UApplicants must be a resident of the county where applying.
UTotal household income must be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
UValid picture ID for person making application and picture IDs for all people in the household 18 and older.
USocial Security cards for all people in the household.
UProof of guardianship for children 12 and younger (medical and insurance cards may be used).
UBirth certificates or court guardianship papers for all children 12 and younger.
UApplicants will be asked to sign an income-verification form affirming that their total household income is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

Trumbull County
UToday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
UToday: 5:30 to 7 p.m. by appointment only.
