New shelter for victims of domestic violence and their kids


GREENVILLE, Pa. — Williams House, a rural shelter for victims of domestic violence and their minor children, opened its doors last week. A ribbon cutting ceremony was Thursday and tours of the facility were conducted throughout the day.

The shelter is the joint project of AWARE, the Mercer County Center Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and First Baptist Church of Greenville.

Victims of domestic violence can find support, safety and shelter 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (888) 981-1457.

AWARE has served Mercer County since 1976.
