Garden Forum awards scholarships

REWARDING MOMENT: Following a recent fundraiser, the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area awarded scholarships to three area students. YOUNGSTOWN — The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area had a Garden Mart in May to raise funds for scholarships for deserving area students.

As a result of the venture, the club was able to award scholarships of $500 each to three students Sept. 13 during its garden and horticulture show.

Recipients were:

UChance Metz of Austintown, a June graduate of Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, who will be majoring in horticulture at Kent State University, Salem Campus.

UMitchell Ramsey of Louisville, who is working toward a degree in horticulture technology at KSU, Salem Campus.

UAaron Burd of Sebring, who is in his final year at KSU Salem Campus, where he is pursuing an associate degree in landscape design-horticulture.
