Cupan’s four touchdowns carry McDonald to sixth straight victory
NORTH JACKSON — Nick Cupan ran for four touchdowns and picked up 114 yards on 16 carries as McDonald rolled to its sixth straight victory cruising past Jackson-Milton 35-0 here Friday night in an ITCL Tier Two contest.
Cupan, who scored on runs of 3, 4, 10 and 48 yards, also caught three passes for 106 yards as the Blue Devils rolled up 227 yards on the ground and added another 197 yards through the air.
Devin Bansberg scored the final McDonald touchdown on a nine-yard run.
South Range 54 Lisbon 6
NORTH LIMA — South Range got back into form behind the play of Hunter Spitz as the Raiders rolled past Lisbon.
Spitz scored four touchdowns, two on runs of 21 and 10 yards, a third on a 45 yard pass from Vince Miller and the fourth on a 19 yard return of a fumble recovery. Spitz finished with 158 yards rushing on 10 carries, while Miller added 163 yards through the air and also scored on an 8-yard run.
Floyd Kenney (5-yard run), David Buzzacco (4-yard run) and Robby Yankush (2-yard run) also scored for the Raiders, who improved to 2-4 and got their first ITCL Tier One win (1-2).
Lisbon’s lone score came on a 56 yard run by Jake Terry as the Blue Devils remained winless in six games.
Columbiana 21 United 8
COLUMBIANA — Austin Barbato passed for 109 yards and rushed for 84 more with a touchdown as Columbiana(4-2, 1-2 ITCL Tier One) edged past United.
Barbato scored on a 1-yard run, while Jon Ritchey added a 9-yard TD and Crant Crider scored on a 33-yard scamper.
United (1-5, 0-3) jumped out to a 8-0 lead with a first quarter safety, when the ball was snapped over Barbato’s head out of the end zone and a 63 yard run by Josh McLaughlin.
Leetonia 21 Southern 12
SALINEVILLE — The Bears (5-1, 3-0) scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to rally for an ITCL Tier Two victory.
Leetonia rolled up 265 yards, including 186 through the air, and held the Indians to 66 yards rushing. Individual leaders for the Bears were not reported.
Adam Kelly had an 88-yard fumble return for a TD and a 26-yard TD pass to Bryan Brinker to lead Southern (2-4, 0-3). Kelly completed 8 of 17 passes for 130 yards and rushed 16 times for 41 yards.
