AT&T gives $1,000 to Youngstown Playhouse
YOUNGSTOWN — AT&T made a $1,000 contribution to the Youngstown Playhouse on Friday.
Rand Becker, Playhouse board president, said the contribution “provides a welcome boost as we kick off our 85th season.” The financially troubled Playhouse had to close temporarily last winter and spring as it worked to pay off debts.
The Playhouse opened its 2009-10 season Friday with “All Shook Up,” featuring the music of Elvis Presley. The remainder of the season will include “Dracula,” “Miracle on 34th Street,” “Inherit the Wind,” “Blithe Spirit” and “Curtains.”
