Special to The Vindicator WELL-TESTED: Members of Lions Clubs from District 13-D conducted free eye screenings and tests for 943 people during the Canfield Fair. There were 85 Lions from 11 area clubs who volunteered to provide the services at the medical building. They tested visitors for glaucoma and peripheral vision and used eye charts to evaluate symptoms of vision loss. The screenings were up 20 percent from last year, and 37 percent of those tested showed signs of possible eye problems. One of the volunteers, Canfield Lion Ruth Ann Cannell, is shown as she provided the peripheral vision test for an area resident. The testings were coordinated by Lions Past District Governor Ted Filmer of Canfield Lions Club.
