• Campbell Memorial High School January and June classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s restaurant, Route 224 in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails in Lowellville.

• Chaney High School January and June alumni of 1942 will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s in Austintown. All classmates and spouses are welcome. No reservations required.

• Fairfield-Waterford Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Skyline Diner, Route 45, at the Salem Airport.

• Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at a new location, Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. All classmates and guests are welcome.

• Austintown Homemakers will meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Margaret’s home to carpool to the McBride House in Hubbard. Lunch will follow at Frankie’s Main Street Cafe. The Mahoning County Extension Club’s “Sharing Day” is planned for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon Hall in Mill Creek Park. Those attending are reminded to take a covered dish.

• The College Club of Sharon will open its 83rd year with a noon luncheon Oct. 10 at the Oak Tree Country Club, West Middlesex. Mark Longietti, Pennsylvania state representative, will present a program on “Negotiating the FY2009 Budget.” Hospitality will be by Sally Young, Wanda Marks and Carole Barker. • Girard Junior Women will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Max and Erma’s, state Route 422, across from Eastwood Mall. • Hubbard Fortnightly IV met on Sept. 24 at the home of Joan Aeppli with co-hostess Sally Malin. A program by Zack Lord on Project Serving Soldiers was informative. Installation of officers for 2009-10 took place as follows: president, Donna Morgan; vice president, Joan Aeppli; secretary, Shirley Baldine, treasurer, Metta Linnen; and historian, Sally Malin. A farewell gift was presented to Judy Guidosh, who will be moving to Georgia.

• Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following: Material Girls at 6 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 490 N. High St., Cortland, for a demonstration of embellishing a top with chiffon squares by Donna Hiland; and Designing Women at 10 a.m. Oct. 9 at Domestic Sewing, 2011 Youngstown SE, Warren, to make a Christmas project (take machines and supplies).

LIBRARY FRIENDS

• Friends of the Poland Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for coffee and a 10 a.m. business meeting. The guest speaker, Chris Roman, of George Roman auctioneers, will speak on antiques and auctions. Hostesses for the meeting are Louise Mulderig, Carol McCoy, Mary Jane Pavelko and Dee Ringer. Recent book and magazine donations will be collected for the Poland friends book cart fundraiser.
