McCloud 55th is observed at three events

BOARDMAN — Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCloud of the Mill Creek Apartments were honored by family members and friends as they observed their 55th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day.

The day included three events hosted by their children and their spouses, Dan and Jeanne McCloud, Tom and Denise McCloud, Patty and Bud Joyce, Megann and Mike Basile, and Brendan and Kristin McCloud, all of Youngstown; and Marty and Devin McCloud of Pittsburgh, and their 12 grandchildren.

The family attended a Thanksgiving Mass in the morning at St. Dominic Parish, an afternoon dinner at the Overture in the DeYor Performing Arts Center in Youngstown, and an evening celebration at the home of Dan and Jeanne McCloud.

The former Claranne Lyden and Donald McCloud were united in marriage Nov. 25, 1954, at the old St. Joseph Church on Wick Avenue, Youngstown. They have been members of St. Dominic’s for 48 years.

Mrs. McCloud graduated from Youngstown State University. She retired in 2000 from Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency and is a part-time receptionist with Midwest Medical Consultants. She is a member of Seton III, the Catholic Women’s Study and Social Action Group and the NCCW.

Mr. McCloud served with the U.S. Army in World War II during the occupation of Japan. He retired in 1994 as a steel salesman with various steel companies in the Warren and Youngstown area. He is a YSU graduate and member of YSU Football Alumni and Mill Creek Seniors Golf League.
