The show’s author, Tracy Letts, also wrote the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning “August: Osage County,” which ran for more than 600 performances on Broadway and is on a national tour.

Wyeth artworks come to auction block in NYC

NEW YORK — Three generations of Wyeth artworks are coming to the auction block in New York City. They include paintings by N.C. Wyeth, used to illustrate the classic novel “Robinson Crusoe.”

The 14 “Crusoe” works are expected to bring about $3.8 million. The Wilmington Institute Library in Delaware is selling them.

The Dec. 2 Christie’s sale also includes works by Wyeth’s late son, Andrew, and grandson, Jamie.

Andrew Wyeth’s 1960 “Above the Narrows” is being offered for the first time since 1961, when it was purchased by the late mutual fund pioneer Jack J. Dreyfus Jr.

It shows the artist’s son, Nicky, on a bluff in Maine. It could fetch $3 million to $5 million.
