BILGOLA, Australia — Sally Meggitt and Dr. Robert Fitch, both of Sydney, were united in marriage during a 4 p.m. ceremony that took place on the beach in Bilgola on April 18.

The bride is a daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Meggitt of Bilgola Beach, and parents of the groom are Robert and Patricia Fitch of Coitsville.

The couple were honored at a postnuptial reception, which took place on the lawn at the home of the groom’s parents.

The bride is a teacher at The Scots College. She graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a bachelor’s degree in visual communications, and from the University of New South Wales with a bachelor’s degree in art education.

The groom earned a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and a doctorate in computer science from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. He is employed as a research fellow at the University of Sydney.

The couple live in Sydney.
