Put down the turkey leg and step away from the table — Liquor Box is at Cedars tonight. This Youngstown rock band plays old-style punk, ’70s glam and ’60s garage tunes, and brings a lot of experience to the table. The lineup includes Timber Gilliland (8 Balls), Sonny Boy Hopchick (Sacksville R&B Band), Don Yallech (The B Minors, Psychedelic Furs), Tom Sailor (Illuminatus) and Big Jeff Hall (Casanova Frankenstein). The 18-and-over show starts at 11 p.m. Cedars is at 26 N. Hazel St., downtown.

Nothing says Christmas like tuba music. Join conductor Wes O’Conner, director of bands at Austintown Fitch High School, for a sing-a-long Christmas concert at the 11th annual TubaChristmas event at noon and 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Mall’s performing arts center. It’s free.
Youngstown’s Total Package Band caps the holiday weekend with a party at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, from 7 to 11 p.m. Karla Seldon will be the featured vocalist at the affair, which is for those 25 and older. Admission is $6 ($5 with a canned good for the Rescue Mission).
jRomanian-born pianist Maira Liliestedt, a prizewinner in international competitions and a professor at Mount Union College, will give a free recital Tuesday at Bliss recital hall on the Youngstown State University campus. Bliss Hall is on Wick Avenue, across from the Butler museum of art. The repertoire will include selections from Mozart, Piazzolla and Liszt.
"That’s Amore," a celebration of Dean Martin and friends, comes to Covelli Centre on Tuesday in an intimate, nightclub-style setting. The act features Mark Adams, who captures the music and essence of Dean Martin’s ’60s television show. Tickets range from $29.50 to $59.50. Go to covellicentre.com for information.
