Gallery show, sale begin Friday


The event will feature performances and artwork by professionals and students.

NILES — The Art Outreach Gallery’s year-end show and sale starts at 1 p.m. Friday.

The gallery is in the Eastwood Mall in the concourse between Sears and Macy’s. The exhibit will end Jan. 3.

The professional gallery showcases various types of artwork including painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and graphic design.

The work of Beth Bacani, Phyllis Bako, Zach Bako, Elaine Bozick, Capri Cafaro, Mike Cantelmo, Brenda Myers Cohen, Chris Leeper, Lynne Rosati and Jan Wilson is included in the year-end show and sale.

The artwork of members of the Youngstown State University Student Art Association also will be featured. Exhibiting YSU students are Ross Mazzupappa, Daniel Rauschenbach, Colleen George, Chris Kasmar, Evan James and Lisa Perry.

Artwork created by students from the Sense of Wonder Preschool and Daycare, Niles Middle School, Niles McKinley High School, Lincoln Elementary School, Bonham Elementary School, Jackson Elementary School, Warren Lincoln Middle and Elementary School, Trumbull County Saturday Enrichment Program, Greenville Senior High School, Howland High School, Trumbull Career and Technical Center, Eagle Heights Academy and East High School is being shown in the Youth Gallery.

Artwork from the 10th Annual Fairhaven calendar-art contest created by children, adults and seniors of the Fairhaven Foundation is part of the exhibit, as well.

Individual prints of the Mona Lisa Mosaic that is located in the Target concourse are included in the show.

The gallery will feature various performances, sales and activities throughout the holiday season.

The schedule of gallery events is as follows:

- 2 p.m. Sat.: Jim Ray will discuss YES! Magazine

- 5 p.m. Sat.: book sale to benefit the gallery

- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5: First Lego Scrimmage in the Mall Community Room

- 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11: meet Lisa Perry, YSU sophomore

- 1 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12: interior design and landscaping students from Trumbull Career and Technical Center will sell handmade gifts

- 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 19 and 20: story telling with Mrs. Claus

Holiday hours of operation are 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays, 1 to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
