Student is driven to new heights

Special to The Vindicator PRIVATE DRIVEWAY: Although his movements are limited by cerebral palsy, Tyler Wibly, a student at the Frank Ohl Intermediate School, skillfully drives his new power chair up a specially designed ramp. When it was discovered the old ramp could not handle the weight or center-wheel drive of his new chair, his parents turned to the Rotary Club of Austintown for help, and the club contacted the Optimist Club of Austintown for assistance. Materials for the ramp were purchased with funds provided by Rotary, and volunteers from both clubs were helped by Tyler’s parents as they worked together to construct the ramp.
