Rayen Class of 1969 plans reunion this month

YOUNGSTOWN — The 1969 class of The Rayen School will host its 40th class reunion Nov. 27 through 29.

The reunion banquet will feature former Youngstown resident and Rayen School graduate Tawana Lewis-Wheeler, interim director for the People’s Community Wellness Center, which serves the uninsured population of Montgomery County, Md.

The reunion banquet will take place Nov. 28 at McMenamy’s in Niles. Get-acquainted night is Nov. 27 at the Hampton Inn.

Food, toy drive scheduled in Springfield Township

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Township Fire and EMS Auxiliaries/Associations and the Springfield Township Community Council of Churches are spearheading a holiday food and toy drive

Nonperishable food items, toys and monetary donations will be collected at each of the township’s three fire stations from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 5. Monetary donations may also be deposited at any Huntington Bank or can be mailed to STCCC c/o Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 434, New Middletown, OH 44442. Baking contest winners announced by Ruritans

BERLIN CENTER — Berlin-Ellsworth Ruritan is announcing the Blue Ribbon winners of its Nov. 9 baking contest.

Mimi Williams of North Jackson won a blue ribbon for her Chocolate Delight Cake, and was declared the grand champion for her Black Raspberry pie.
