Mr., Mrs. Malone honored in Texas on anniversary

STRUTHERS — Perry’s Steakhouse in The Woodlands, Texas, provided the setting on Oct. 24 for a 7 p.m. dinner, where Mr. and Mrs. Bill Malone, 88 Overlook Blvd., were honored as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple also renewed their marriage vows during a Mass officiated by their nephew, The Rev. Joseph Rogers, at St. Anne’s Church in Houston.

Hosts for the festivities were their son, Bill Jr., and his wife, Leona Malone, of The Woodlands. Completing their family are a daughter Jacqueline Malone-Houlihan of Surprise, Ariz., and three grandchildren.

The former Gloria Pruce and Mr. Malone were married Oct. 24, 1959, at St. Nicholas Church, where they are members.

Mrs. Malone was a free-lance secretary prior to retiring in 1995.

Mr. Malone served with the U.S. Army, 3rd Armored Cavalry Division, during the Korean War. He retired in 2000 from Packard Electric in Warren, where he was a health and safety representative.
