YSU women’s hoops to collect for Beatitude House

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown State women’s basketball team will collect needed items for the Beatitude House of Youngstown at its game on Sunday against Canisius.

Donations will be collected at a table in the front lobby of Beeghly Center before, during and after the game.

The project is being organized by women’s basketball player Kaitlyn March for her senior community service project.

The most-needed items are gas cards, food cards, phone cards, basic household cleaning supplies, kitchen trash bags, diapers and pull-ups (sizes 3, 4 and 5), baby wipes, toilet paper, gift certificates for discount stores, laundry detergent (liquid or powder), energy-saving light bulbs (any wattage), Band-Aids and other first aid items, cold remedies for adults and children, shampoo and hair conditioner and non-perishable food items. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

The Beatitude House serves and provides programs to assist women and children of Mahoning and Trumbull Counties who are impoverished or homeless. For more information, visit beatitudehouseonline.org.
