CLUB CALENDAR | Local organizations plan meetings


ASSOCIATIONS

• Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will have a holiday social at 11 a.m. Dec. 9 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. Lunch will be at 11:45. Poland High School Choral Ensemble will entertain, and representatives of the Salvation Army will accept donations, unwrapped toys and nonperishable food items. AUXILIARIES

• Girard Eagles Auxiliary 2172 will sponsor a Kids Christmas party at 1 p.m. Dec. 6. Registration is required by Wednesday. Members are asked to take two dozen cookies to the event by noon or on Friday night. The auxiliary Christmas party will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 15. Stuffed chicken breast will be provided and members are asked to take a covered dish. A $10 gift exchange is optional. Spouses and guests are welcome. CLASSES

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1963 will meet at noon Dec. 9 at Bogey’s on Route 616 in Campbell.

CLUBS

• Antique Tractor Club of Trumbull County will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ali Baba Grotto, Perkins-Jones Road in Warren. The public is welcome. Reservations will be accepted for a members-only Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at Gardenbrook Banquet Center in Cortland. The cost is $13.50 per person. For more information call (330) 544-6890.

• Castle Crusaders will have a Christmas at the Castle from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Glamorgan Castle in Alliance. The program will be “A 1909 Christmas Wedding.” Featured will be food experts, musicians, floral designers, and photographers. The cost is $10 a person or $25 per family. Decorated trees will be raffled. Raffle tickets are $1 each. In charge of the event are Mary Ann McKee, Kathy Kuceyeski and Barrie Kridler.

• McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• The next meeting of Newcomers Club will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cafe Cimmento for lunch. The program will be a tour. Reservations can be made by calling (330) 726-0401.

• Ohio Cultural Alliance will gather at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 for a dinner meeting at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road in Canfield. Alfred L. Bright, emeritus professor of art at Youngstown Sate University, will speak. Amariah McIntosh will sing. The cost for the evening is $13 for paid-up members and $18 for others. • Riverside Railroad Train Club and Chat-N-Chew Railroad Club will have a model railroad open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 19 and 20 at Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St., Warren. Admission is $3 for adults and free for kids under 12 when accompanied by an adult. G and HO gauge layouts, a Lego train and a Thomas the Tank engine will be in operation. Renee Koehrsen will present Christmas music, and Jane Cole will speak on “Life Can Have Meaning Despite Early Failures.” The cost is $12. • Youngstown American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, will host its annual Christmas party beginning at 1 p.m. Dec. 6. Members are asked to take a casserole.
