Former Pittsburgh news anchor arrested in Calif.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A former Pittsburgh news anchor has been arrested in California for failing to serve drunken-driving sentences in two western Pennsylvania cases.

Don Cannon, 69, whose real name is Donald Clark, was arrested on an Allegheny County bench warrant Tuesday in Carlsbad, Calif., where he moved after pleading guilty in 2008. He’s in the San Diego County Jail and faces extradition to Pittsburgh.

The Allegheny County sheriff’s department says Cannon was to begin serving house arrest and probation last month. The department says it’s learned Cannon also has been arrested for drunken driving in California.

Cannon’s attorney, Patrick Thomassey, plans to talk with an Allegheny judge sometime today.

Cannon worked at WTAE-TV and KDKA-TV.
