Motorcyclist listed as ‘critical’ at St. E’s

STAFF REPORT

POLAND — A Lowellville man was in critical condition Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, after a Saturday evening motorcycle crash.

Dale Bailey, 47, of Lowellville, was flown to St. Elizabeth after the crash about 10 p.m. Saturday.

A preliminary investigation by the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol shows that two motorcycles, one driven by Bailey and the other by Daniel Lucas, 42, also of Lowellville, were traveling north on Struthers Road. Both drove off the right side of the road, crashing into a ditch and a field, according to the patrol.

Alcohol usage and lack of helmets are factors in the crash, the patrol said.

Lucas, his passenger, Mandy Spahr, 32, and Bailey’s passenger, Dana L. Bailey, 39, all of Lowellville, were listed in satisfactory condition at St. Elizabeth.

The crash remains under investigation.
