Boardman reports home invasion, assault

BOARDMAN — A 36-year-old Vineland Place man told police that three men came into his home, pointed a gun at him, tied him up and stole a cellular phone, a Batman home phone and his wallet.

The victim said that about 8:45 p.m. Friday he saw a red car back into his driveway and three men get out. He initially thought one of them was a friend. The men entered his home and threw him to the floor, a police report said. One of the men pulled a handgun, threatening to kill the resident if he looked at them. They tied his hands behind his back using his belt, he told police, and kicked him in the head. One of the men went through the house, asking, “Where’s the stash?”

The resident told the men he didn’t know what they were talking about, and they left, threatening again to kill him if he got up.

Campbell police say driver ran from them

CAMPBELL — Police arrested a man they say ran from them after a traffic stop.

Stacey R. Gray, 18, of Penhale Avenue was a passenger in a car driven by a juvenile, police said.

Police stopped the car at Tremble Avenue and 12th Street at 9:45 p.m. Saturday after the driver failed to stop for a stop sign at Robinson Road and Murray Avenue, police said.

The driver and a juvenile passenger got out while police searched the car, the report said, but Gray appeared nervous. Police said he stuffed something under the rear seat.

He would not stand still for police, so they said they were going to handcuff him.

Gray ran and was tackled and pepper-sprayed, the report says.

Police recovered a loaded .22-caliber handgun from the car, they said.

Gray was in the city jail without bond until his arraignment today.

He is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. The juveniles were released.
