A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD CITY

Nov. 6

Alleged rape: The school resource officer received a call from a staff member at Canfield Middle School to report that a juvenile female student said she had been raped by a male juvenile student on the bike trail last summer. The officer contacted the mother of the female student and initiated an investigation.

Nov. 10

Theft by deception: A resident from the 70 block of Hilltop Boulevard reported she had paid a contractor $275 in advance to do repair work on her front porch in October but no work has been done.

Criminal damaging, theft: An unknown number of CDs were stolen from a vehicle at M&M Auto Sales, 470 W. Main Street. The vehicle window was broken.

Drug abuse, paraphernalia: A 21-year-old Canfield man was arrested on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at Lisbon Street and U.S. Route 446. Police found a bag of marijuana and a blue-and-red pipe with marijuana residue in it and an unopened package of wrapping papers.

Forgery: A resident of the 1000 block of Fairground Boulevard reported identity fraud to police. He had three loan-agreement papers with his forged signature on them.

AUSTINTOWN

Nov. 9

Aggravated menacing: An unidentified female caller made threatening phone calls to a woman in an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Aggravated menacing: A man made threatening cell-phone and telephone calls to a woman at a home in the 4000 block of Winthrop Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman from the 3000 block of Johnson Court reported a male calling her and threatening her. She said he may have been responsible for her vehicle’s being keyed at Barry Dyngles Pub, 1601 S. Raccoon Road.

Disrupting public service: An AT&T phone wire was cut and stolen in the 2000 block of South Turner Road.

Auto theft: A black 1998 Chevrolet truck was stolen from Renu Roofing, 168 S. Meridian Road.

Disturbance: Multiple gunshots were fired at a home in the 2000 block of Bainbridge Street.

Burglary: A 60-inch Phillips television was stolen at a home in the 1000 block of South Navarre Avenue.

Theft: A male suspect in the theft of $43.98 of men’s clothing at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave., fled in a gray 1991 Chevrolet.

Theft: An Apple iPod Touch was stolen from a vehicle in the Kirk Road parking lot at the bike trail.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipe was taken from a home in the 10 block of North Navarre Avenue.

Theft: A man is a suspect in the theft of a cell phone in the 800 block of Compass West.

Auto theft: A burgundy 2000 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A door was damaged at BW-3’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A gear-shift knob was cracked off from the base on a vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Attempted auto theft: The steering column was peeled on a 1989 white Cadillac at a home in the 3000 block of Elgen Street.

Nov. 12

Auto theft: A 2002 Cadillac was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive and later returned by a female suspect.

Criminal trespassing: A man was released on a summons for trespassing on Avalon Court.

Nov. 11

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Avenue.

Theft: A cell phone was stolen from an auto at Save-A-Step, 4226 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A man was issued a summons for theft of $214.32 worth of DVD games at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., and arrested on a felony theft warrant and taken to county jail.

Theft: Miscellaneous change was taken from a vehicle at a home in the 3000 block of Avalon Court.

Nov. 12

Auto theft: A 2002 Cadillac Deville was stolen and later returned by a female suspect in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal trespass: A man was issued a summons for trespassing at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Nov. 13

Theft: $40 was stolen from a driver by another man in the parking lot at Club 76, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: A 24-ounce bottle of beer was taken at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A check was stolen from an apartment in the 600 block of S. Meridian Road.

Burglary: Money was taken from a vehicle at a home in the 1000 block of Laurie Drive.

Burglary: A man is a suspect in a burglary at an apartment in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Nov. 14

Drug offense: An Austintown man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 5000 block of West Webb Road.

Criminal damaging: A 2006 Chevrolet was damaged and a man is accused at a home in the 30 block of Dravis Drive.

Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: An unidentified caller was making harassing calls to a home in the 3000 block of Lynhaven Road.

Nov. 15

Theft: A light fixture was taken from a home in the 2000 block of Carnegie Avenue.

Criminal mischief: A satellite dish and the hood on a vehicle were written on with marker in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Auto theft: A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen from the parking lot of an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman reported getting unwanted phone calls at apartments in the 900 block of Compass West.

Felonious assault: A truck driver was cut and struck in the parking lot at Watkins Shepard, 400 Victoria Road.
