Lowellville man in critical condition after Saturday crash

POLAND — A Lowellville man was in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, today after a Saturday evening motorcycle crash.

Dale Bailey, 47, of Lowellville, was flown to St. Elizabeth after the crash about 10 p.m. Saturday.

A preliminary investigation by the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol shows that two motorcycles, one driven by Bailey and the other by Daniel Lucas, 42, also of Lowellville, were traveling northbound on Struthers Road. Both drove off the right side of the roadway, crashing into a ditch and a field, according to the patrol.

Alcohol usage and no helmet usage are factors in the crash, the patrol said.

Lucas, his passenger Mandy Spahr, 32, and Bailey’s passenger, Dana L. Bailey, 39, all of Lowellville, all were listed today in satisfactory condition at St. Elizabeth.

The accident remains under investigation.
