OTTAWA — Pierre Parenteau scored the deciding goal in the seventh round of the shootout to lift the Rangers. Parenteau, who missed a shot at an open net late in regulation, put a shot into the top right corner on New York’s seventh attempt against Brian Elliott. Henrik Lundqvist stopped five Ottawa shooters, including Milan Michalek on the Senators’ seventh and final attempt. Vinny Prospal scored a short-handed goal midway through the second for New York, which had lost two in a row.

Devils 5, Capitals 2

NEWARK, N.J. — Zach Parise’s breakaway highlighted a three-goal second period and the Devils won their eighth straight game. Jamie Langenbrunner and rookie Matt Halischuk also scored in the second as the Devils rallied from an early two-goal deficit to beat the Capitals for the third time in three games this season. PHILADELPHIA —Tyler Ennis scored his first NHL goal and Ryan Miller stopped 29 shots to help the Sabres snap the Flyers’ five game winning streak. Thomas Vanek and Paul Gaustad also scored for the Sabres, who never trailed and won their third straight game. Chris Pronger and Jeff Carter scored third-period goals for the Flyers. Miller (12-2-1) was aided by a strong Buffalo defense that constantly thwarted the Flyers from in-close. He was at his best midway through the second period when he stopped Danny Briere and Scott Hartnell on the doorstep on successive flurries.

Red Wings 7, Ducks 4

DETROIT — Henrik Zetterberg had three goals and two assists in the Red Wings’ victory. It was the first meeting between the teams since Detroit beat Anaheim in a seven-game, second-round playoff series in the spring. Dan Cleary added a goal and two assists, and Brian Rafalski had a goal and an assist for Detroit. Pavel Datsyuk and Darren Helm also scored, and Jimmy Howard made 19 saves. Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and three assists, Corey Perry had a goal and an assist, and Bobby Ryan and Joffrey Lupul also scored for Anaheim. Jonas Hiller made 30 saves.

MIAMI — Nathan Horton’s wrist shot beat Dwayne Roloson in the fourth shootout round to lift the Panthers. Cory Stillman, Rostislav Olesz, Stephen Weiss and Michael Frolik scored in regulation for the Panthers. Tomas Vokoun made 36 saves. Tim Jackman, Trent Hunter, John Tavares and Kyle Okposo had the goals for New York. Roloson stopped 38 shots for the Islanders, who played for the third time in four nights. New York (7-6-7) won at Carolina in overtime on Friday night.

Kings 2, Lightning 1, SO

TAMPA, Fla. — Anze Kopitar scored the lone shootout goal for the Kings. Drew Doughty scored in regulation for the Kings, who won for the second time in five games. Jonathan Quick stopped 28 shots.
