NBA roundup Saturday’s other games

Pacers 113, Celtics 104

INDIANAPOLIS — Danny Granger scored 29 points and Dahntay Jones added a season-high 25, helping the Pacers defeat Boston. Granger was 6 of 9 on 3-pointers, had six rebounds and four assists after promising Wednesday night that the Pacers (4-3) would win their fourth straight. Boston (8-3) was led by Ray Allen, who had a season-high 24 but lost its second straight. Paul Pierce started the game after bruising his knee in Friday night’s loss but struggled. He had 15 points, was 4 of 10 from the field and missed two big free throws in the closing minutes. Indiana broke open the game with a decisive 19-8 fourth-quarter run that gave the Pacers a 107-96 lead.

Heat 81, Nets 80

MIAMI — Dwyane Wade’s 3-pointer with 0.1 seconds left gave the Heat a victory over the undermanned and winless Nets. Wade’s shot was the 17th tie or lead change in the fourth quarter and came after the Nets’ Brook Lopez tipped in teammate Rafer Alston’s missed runner with 4.1 seconds remaining. Wade finished with 22 points and Udonis Haslem scored 28 for Miami, which played without two starters in a sluggish performance. Sean Williams had eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, and Lopez and Trenton Hassell each finished with 17 points for New Jersey (0-10), which played with an eight-man rotation because of injury or personal reasons.

Hawks 121, Hornets 98

ATLANTA — Joe Johnson scored 26 points, Jamal Crawford added 21, and the Hawks won their fourth straight. The Hornets were without Chris Paul, who stayed home after spraining his ankle from the night before, and have lost three straight and five of six. Josh Smith had 17 points and 17 rebounds for Atlanta, which was coming off an 11-point win Friday in Boston. Peja Stojakovic scored 25 points, but New Orleans fell to 0-2 under Jeff Bower, the general manager who became the coach this week after Byron Scott’s firing.

Pistons 106, Wizards 103

WASHINGTON — Ben Gordon scored 29 points, Charlie Villanueva added 25, and the Pistons held Washington to one field goal over the final 5 minutes to win despite Wizards newcomer Earl Boykins’ 20 points. Gordon scored eight of the final 10 points for Detroit, which has won three consecutive games. The Wizards have lost six in a row. Mike Miller returned from a left shoulder injury to score 20 points for the hosts, while Gilbert Arenas had 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. But Arenas’ only field goal of the fourth quarter was a meaningless 3-pointer right before the final buzzer. The 5-foot-5 Boykins was playing his first NBA game in more than 11‚Ñ2 years, having signed with Washington on Wednesday because of a glut of injured guards.

Trail Blazers 80, Bobcats 74

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Brandon Roy scored 25 points, Andre Miller added 15, and the Trail Blazers won their sixth straight. The Blazers (8-3) used a huge run that overlapped the second and third quarters to send the Bobcats (3-6) to their fourth straight loss.
