Angels’ brunch, sweet shoppe will benefit Easter Seals clients

BOARDMAN — The Angels of Easter Seals invites the community to their annual Holiday Brunch and Sweet Shoppe, which will take place Dec. 2 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

Mimosas will be served at 10:30 a.m. with brunch featuring entr es from the Angels cookbooks at 11:30 a.m. Shuttle service from Phantom Fireworks, 9400 Market St. Boardman, will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The angels will be selling more than 30 varieties of homemade cookies featuring recipes from their famous cookbooks: Angels and Friends Volume I and Volume II and Party Favorites. Angels cookbooks and cookbook baskets will also be available for sale.

This is the place to buy your Christmas cookies, pastries and breads made from Angels’ award-winning cookbooks. There will be a Chinese auction with many beautiful and unique items donated by the Angels and a 50-50 raffle.

A special feature of the event will be informal modeling by Possessions of Boardman. Angels will model cocktail, casual and holiday dresses from Possessions. Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, Tribal, AZI, Forwear and Cartise clothing will be highlighted.

Accessories from Possessions, including purses, belts, scarves and jewelry will be for sale. A 20 percent discount is available for all who attend the brunch. Ten percent of all sales will be donated to the Angels of Easter Seals.

Co-chairs of the event are Mary VanSickle and Nancy Leicht, aided by all the Angels of Easter Seals. Phyllis Bacon is president of the Angels.

An upcoming event for the Angels is an American Girl Style Show and Luncheon at Mr. Anthony’s on March 13 and 14, 2010.

All proceeds from this event will benefit those with disabilities or special needs served by Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
