Cops seek suspects in shooting of boy, 17

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for suspects in the shooting of a 17-year-old boy on West Boston Avenue.

The shooting occurred around 6:35 p.m. Thursday when the teenager was walking home with a friend westbound on West Boston Avenue, according to a police report.

A black car approached the two, and the victim told police that a man yelled profanity at them before firing with a handgun and hitting the teen twice on his left side, according to the report.

The victim’s friend called a cousin to take them to the hospital, where police took their report.

The teen was treated for injuries to his stomach and his lower left leg at St. Elizabeth Health Center, according to the report.
