US Airways plane diverted to Ohio airport with landing gear problem
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A US Airways plane en route to Indianapolis has been diverted to Dayton International Airport after the crew reported a problem with its landing gear.
Airport spokeswoman Linda Hughes says the Canadair Regional Jet landed safely at about 6 p.m. Thursday. Hughes says a crew at the airport’s maintenance facility is checking the airplane to see if the 50 people on board will have to board another plane to complete their trip.
Hughes says the problem concerned the plane’s nose gear.
The airline says the Canadair Regional Jet took off from Charlotte, N.C. at about 4:10 p.m.
