State fire marshal investigates fatal fire in Trumbull County

WARREN — The Division of State Fire Marshal is continuing its investigation of a fatal fire this morning in Warren Township.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Investigators say the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature, according to a press release from Shane Cartmill, public information officer with the Ohio State Fire Marshal's division.

The victim is a 47-year-old male. His identity has not yet been confirmed. Smoke detectors were present and they did activate.

The State Fire Marshal is working with the Trumbull County Fire Investigation Unit and the county coroner’s office in the investigation.
