A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
Nov. 7
Burglary: A duplicate key may have been used to enter an elderly woman’s Allen Drive apartment, though nothing appeared to be missing.
Counterfeit: A Shields Road man reported receiving a fake $20 bill as payment for a debt.
Attempted theft: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road fast-food restaurant told police someone tried to take items from her purse.
Attempted burglary: A Hudson Drive man discovered damage to a rear door after someone had evidently tried to enter.
Theft: A 32-year-old Bessemer, Pa., woman was charged with stealing two pieces of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Criminal mischief: Several pumpkins were tossed against the side of a residence in the 6900 block of Glendale Avenue.
Burglary: Someone cut a screen to an apartment in the 7000 block of Bristlewood Drive, then rummaged through several drawers. Nothing seemed to be missing, however.
Theft: Police charged two Youngstown females, 17 and 19, with leaving Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, and deliberately failing to pay their $65.74 food bill.
Arrest: A traffic stop in the 5200 block of Market Street resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old city man wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Theft: A man’s debit card was stolen as he patronized a Tiffany Boulevard eatery.
Nov. 8
Theft: A Zander Drive woman reported the theft of $3,000 as well as a $3,000 bracelet.
Theft: A 31-year-old East Liverpool man was charged, accused of stealing a $30 Pittsburgh Steelers jersey from Wal-Mart. He also was wanted on two probation-violation warrants.
Theft: A township girl, 16, was accused in the theft of $110 worth of jewelry from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Arrest: Authorities arrested a 55-year-old man at his Boardman residence on charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest after having assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol during an accident near Market Street. The man became irate about having to stop, then sped away when police wanted to talk to him; he also was belligerent when officers went to his home to serve a summons, a report said.
Breaking and entering: Someone took dinner ware after having pried open a rear door to a home in the 7800 block of Southern Boulevard.
Domestic violence: An Austintown woman, 19, was taken into custody near Tippecanoe Road on a felony charge after a man alleged she had struck him in the right thigh during a fight.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s driver’s-side lock system sustained $400 worth of damage at a Doral Drive business.
Auto theft: Three Youngstown boys, 14, 15 and 16, faced charges of receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools after police investigated three suspicious teens at a Doral Drive store and determined the vehicle they were in had been stolen in Youngstown. A screwdriver was found inside, a report showed.
Criminal damaging: The owner of a Market Street motel told police that after a guest left, the owner found a shattered glass-shower door in the room.
Nov. 9
Theft: A $250 TV/DVD player was removed from a car in the 70 block of Lemans Drive.
Burglary: A Ron Park Place homeowner struggled with an intruder who fled on foot after having entered. The burglar was described as a man in his 30s with a goatee and wearing jeans and a gray jacket.
Counterfeit: A phony $20 bill was passed at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave.
Theft: A woman’s $400 ring was stolen while she was at a Southern Park Mall store.
Theft: A 36-year-old man, no information given, was charged with taking $232 worth of men’s clothing from Macy’s.
Misuse of a credit card: A woman learned from her Boardman bank that $145 worth of unauthorized charges had been made to her card.
Misuse of a credit card: An employee with a Market Street restaurant found out that two fraudulent transactions totaling $63 had been made with a company-owned card.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 4000 block of Hudson Drive, where a rear door had been forced open.
Felonious assault: A Youngstown man suffered a possible broken nose and other injuries after alleging his former wife had kicked him in the face several times and tried to run him over with her vehicle in the 400 block of Mathews Road.
Vandalism: A rock was used to damage a sign at a Market Street business.
Theft: A global positioning system unit was stolen from a vehicle at a Market Street dealership.
Theft: A Youngstown woman, 19, was charged in the theft of $157 worth of shirts and jeans from Macy’s.
Nov. 10
Theft: A man and a woman, both 19 and of Youngstown, were charged in the theft of $297 worth of clothing from Macy’s.
Theft: Two hundred compact discs, an MP3 player and related accessory were removed from a vehicle in the 7300 block of Woodview Avenue.
Recovered property: A city woman found at a Market Street store two baby strollers that had been stolen from her garage.
Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from an account belonging to Softek Software International Inc., 5815 Market St.
Theft: A purse was taken from a car at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.
Identity theft: A Lemans Drive woman discovered her identity had been assumed when someone, without her knowledge, canceled her cell-phone account.
Theft: A 24-year-old employee of a Karago Drive business was accused of stealing three Xbox video games valued at a total of $400. The man admitted the crime, a report said.
Theft/criminal damaging: A vehicle’s interior sustained damage at a South Avenue dealership. Stolen was a $200 stereo.
Theft/damage: A wallet and CDs were stolen from a car on Southwoods Drive after someone had smashed a window.
Criminal damaging: A 3-foot section of a chain-link fence was cut at an East Midlothian Boulevard business.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a key to cause $1,000 worth of damage to a vehicle’s paint in the 200 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A Youngstown girl, 13, was accused in the theft of jewelry from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Nov. 11
Assault: A Girard woman had scratches to her lip area after a fight in the 6300 block of South Avenue.
Theft: A $200 CD player and three CDs were taken from a car at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Someone removed from a vehicle on Southwoods Drive an MP3 player and a GPS unit.
Theft: Fifteen CDs, loose change and an insurance card were stolen from a car in the 7500 block of Market Street.
Theft: A man age 18 to 20 stole money from a cash register and fled Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.
Criminal mischief: A pencil was used to draw an obscene image on a vehicle in the 7700 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Assault: A man at a U.S. Route 224 gas station told police of being pushed into a truck and poked during an argument with another driver, who the accuser said also threatened to kill him.
Burglary: To a Stadler Avenue apartment via the front door. Two bottles of prescription medications were taken.
Theft: A male in his 20s fled in a vehicle after taking a $110 jersey from Sportstown in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: After $72.75 worth of health-care products was stolen from Family Dollar, 4026 South Ave., an 18-year-old city woman was charged.
Nov. 12
Domestic violence: A 32-year-old Southern Boulevard man faced a felony count after his girlfriend reported that he became jealous, then threw her to the floor and into several walls and a dresser. The accuser complained of pain in her right shoulder as well as a possible loose tooth.
