POLAND — The wedding of Amy N. Kim, a daughter of Marcus and Mimi Kim of Boardman, and Shawn Carlson of Boardman, a son of Tom and Marilyn Carlson of Struthers, took place June 6 at Holy Family Church.

The Rev. Richard Whetstone and the groom’s uncle The Rev. Tom Nodrich officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony, and a reception followed at Mahoning Country Club in Liberty.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica and the Caribbean islands, the couple live in Boardman.

The bride’s strapless white gown featured a lace-up corset back and a train embellished with lace and seed pearls.

Mimi Kim was the honor attendant for her twin sister, and bridesmaids were Ashley Dickson, her cousin; Angela Walla; Kristen Patterson; Margaret Mallis, Kari Carlson, the groom’s sister; and Elise Liga. Junior bridesmaids were Emika Ervin and Katy Ervin, the bride’s cousins. They wore swimming-pool-blue gowns.

Brandon Grope was best man, and groomsmen were Mike Burnett, Jason Emler, Peter Vass, Steve Altier, Chris Grope and Jarod Rupert. Ushers were Ryan Wisecarver and J.J. Wood.

The bride is senior majoring in communications/marketing at Youngstown State University.

The groom graduated from YSU and is a sales representative with Glazer Distributors of Ohio, the Hammer Company, in Streetsboro
