A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

Nov. 7

Criminal damaging: A BB gun likely was used to shoot a kitchen window in the 400 block of East Kline Street and cause $500 worth of damage.

Nov. 8

Arrest: A 29-year-old Niles man was arrested on a warrant from Girard.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 200 block of East Main Street and took a $1,000 crossbow.

Nov. 9

Theft: A 40-foot extension ladder, a box of jewelry and a purse were missing from a garage in the 70 block of East Main Street, for an estimated loss of $2,550.

Criminal damaging: A rock was tossed, breaking a rear window to a residence in the 100 block of Morris Avenue.

Nov. 10

Arrest: A 36-year-old Hubbard man wanted on a warrant from the city was picked up near U.S. Route 422.

HUBBARD

Nov. 5

Criminal mischief: Police got word that someone had shot paintballs and struck grave markers at a cemetery near Oakdale Avenue.

Recovered property: A local towing company reported being in possession of a stolen truck.

Nov. 6

Assault: A Rebecca Avenue man reported that an older juvenile had assaulted his 12-year-old son.

Arrest: A warrant was issued against a Hubbard woman accusing her of failing to appear in Hubbard Mayor’s Court to answer a charge of failure to file her 2006 income taxes.

Nov. 7

Criminal mischief: Officers received a report of juveniles placing pumpkins in the road near South Main Street.

Arrest: Police were looking for a man in the 800 block of North Main Street who was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Nov. 9

Theft: The driver of a black vehicle left Hubbard Gas & Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, without paying for gasoline.

LIBERTY

Nov. 6

Misuse of a credit card: A Struthers man found out his card had been used to buy $47 worth of gasoline at a Belmont Avenue station.

Arrest: A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Youngstown man, 32, wanted on a warrant. He also was charged with obstructing official business.

Drugs: While investigating suspicious activity in the 4500 block of Belmont Avenue, authorities charged a 26-year-old New Castle, Pa., woman with possession of heroin, drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. A bag of syringes was found, and she admitted using heroin, a report said.

Theft: Several tools valued at a total of $280 were missing from a garage in the 50 block of Warner Road.

Robbery: A Salem woman, 24, faced charges of robbery and disorderly conduct after $120 worth of children’s clothing and other items were stolen from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road. The woman also struggled with store personnel who tried to detain her, a report said.

Drugs: A 22-year-old Hubbard man was charged with possession of marijuana after police pulled him over on Belmont Avenue. A small bag of suspected marijuana was found, they said.

Assault: Warren police arrested a 23-year-old woman from that city who was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the township.

Burglary: To a residence in the 3000 block of North Gate Road through a rear door. Stolen were a large safe with roughly $9,000, a Sony PlayStation game system and three pairs of designer sunglasses, for a total loss of $10,200.

Theft: A Youngstown boy, 17, was seen on security cameras taking a $9 set of stereo headphones from Wal-Mart, though he had not been charged at the time of the report.

Nov. 7

Theft: A 33-year-old Warren man was accused in, but not charged with, the theft of three compact discs from Wal-Mart. He was, however, taken into custody on a charge of failure to appear in court.

Misuse of a credit card: A woman’s card was used without consent at a Belmont Avenue store, resulting in her account’s being overdrawn by $335.

Criminal mischief: A Belmont Avenue woman discovered someone may have deliberately loosened lug nuts on her vehicle’s tires.

Nov. 8

Assault: Police responded to a verbal dispute in the 1600 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road, where they arrested a 39-year-old Niles man on a warrant charging him.

Assault: A Timbercrest Drive woman told police that while jogging, someone exited a vehicle and grabbed her left arm. She fought back and the two people drove off, a report showed.

Criminal damaging: An apartment window was broken in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue.

Menacing: A man told police he had information that another man was planning to harm a third party.

Nov. 10

Assault: A man had minor swelling to his left jaw after alleging his uncle, of Santa Monica Drive, had assaulted him.

Attempted breaking and entering: Someone pried open a door in an effort to enter an apartment in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road.

Breaking and entering: A large piece of concrete was used to smash a window and enter Ohio Puppy Inc., 3620 Belmont Ave. A $1,100 laptop computer was stolen.

Nov. 11

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Hadley Road woman reported her former boyfriend took her 1996 Chevrolet Corsica without permission and failed to return the car.
